Visitors arrive in Makadi Bay throughout the year thanks to the terrific climate in this part of Egypt that means it never gets particularly unpleasant at any time.

Summers are, as you would expect, very hot and dry.  Winter, and we use that term lightly is not as hot but you will still be comfortable sunbathing and spending time exploring the local beaches and marine life of the Red Sea.

The temperature is nearly always above 20C which means that when the rest of Europe is shivering through another bleak winter, this Red Sea resort, just a few hours flight time away, can providing the sunshine getaway that you have been dreaming of.

When it gets hot here, it really does get hot.  Temperatures during the summer months can tip 40C which is beyond what many of us can expect in many other holiday destinations.

The best time to visit is either side of the ‘peak’ summer months.  Between April and June, and from early September right through to November, the temperatures are warm without being excessive.

When you are working out when to visit Makadi Bay, you will also be relaxed to hear that the sun shines nearly every day of the year, so you will be extremely unlucky to spend any period of time here and not experience long spells of warm and dry weather with lots of sunshine.

What to Pack?

As with any other sunshine holidays, lots of light clothing which keeps you cool but protected from the sun. Remember to take plenty of high factor sunscreen with you – Egypt is not the place to be risking exposure to the rays in the hope of returning to the UK with a tan.

Outside of the summer months, take a couple of light cardigans for the evenings. Once the sun goes down, the temperature can drop a little and you might be glad of the extra layer. This is particulary true if you are planning to take any trips out into the desert where temperatures can be a little cooler.
