One of the good things about heading to a popular holiday destination such as Makadi Bay is that you have a wide range of airports in the UK to choose from.
Recent years have seen significant growth in UK regional airports which give the traveller the opportunity to depart from much nearer their homes, cutting down on travelling time.
Airports like Liverpool, East Midlands and Stansted have increased in popularity and now offer a real alternative to the traditional major airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester.
If you find a Makadi Bay Holiday departing from your local regional airport you’ll not only save on travelling time but will probably find the experience overall a great deal easier.
Car parking at the smaller airports is often much nearer to the terminal and sometimes cheaper than you would expect to pay elsewhere.
You might also find the airport less congested, so it’s quicker to check-in, less queues at security, and easier to get a bite to eat or do some last minute duty-free shopping.
Bigger airports
Some of the more major airports – like Gatwick or Manchester – are much bigger in size but they all operate so efficiently that you will hardly notice the difference.
Yes you might have to park slightly further away from the airport and have a longer bus ride in, but does that really make a huge difference to your travel arrangements?
Alternatively, many travellers now take the opportunity to extend their holiday by one night by booking into an airport hotel the night before they are due to travel.
Not only does this give you another night away from home, but it also takes away any worry of the car breaking down, or bad weather conditions/road closures affecting your early morning trip to the airport.
You can arrive at the airport hotel the previous evening and settle down for a nice meal and glass of wine looking forward to your holiday ahead.
Both regional and major airports have their advantages and you’ll probably have your favourite. However, in reality, if the price is right book the flight. It has little bearing on how you will enjoy your holiday overall.
